About

I am an Ontario Certified Teacher qualified to teach in the primary and junior divisions (kindergarten-grade 6). I'm currently working as a private school teacher as I complete my master's degree in education - exploring and researching links between the pedagogies of music and math.

My life as a musician started when I took up piano lessons at age 10. After many years of hard work, I completed my Grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations.

Throughout high school, I also started teaching myself guitar and decided to pursue music as a career. In 2011, I began studies in jazz and music education at York University, and upon graduating, was accepted into their teacher's college program.

For the past 10 years, I have worked as a music teacher both privately and for music schools.

Lessons

I currently offer in-home lessons for guitar, piano, voice, and music theory within the Greater Toronto Area.

The main philosophy and approach to my teaching is to foster a love and appreciation for music, while helping students develop the tools they need to get there. Rather than simply teach students how to use an instrument, my ultimate goal is for them to make music and see themselves as musicians.

As a teacher grounded in both research and practice, I am committed to keeping up-to-date with current pedagogy in all areas of education in order to suit and meet the needs of all learners.

Whether you're ready to start your journey as the next big artist, or have just been itching to play along with your favourite songs, send me a message — I'd love to talk about how I can help you get there!
